[News] SHINee draws their Dream Girl in exclusive interview with Taiwan's Love JK

Posted Image

An exclusive interview with popular South Korean idol boyband, SHINee, will be broadcasted on Fox's entertainment channel, LoveJK, at 7pm (GMT +9) on April 10th. The five member boyband revealed their ideal types for the first time, and even took to pen and paper to draw out the physical appearance of their Dream Girl. However, the resulting drawings induced much laughter from the staff.

The 23 year old leader of the group, Onew (whom fans address affectionately as Dubu), showed off a weird drawing of his ideal type, which led to his fellow member and main vocalist, Jonghyun, saying, "It looks like a ghost."
On the other hand, the group's athletic rapper, Minho, drew what he loves to see a girl doing. In an attempt to depict a girl brushing her long hair to the back of her ears, Minho's drawing resulted in Jonghyun commenting, "I thought it was a ghost!" With comments like that, it just proved that the two members are not particularly skilled in the drawing department.

SHINee enjoys a high level of popularity in Taiwan. With the release of a new Korean album, LoveJK made their way to Korea to interview the five members. Throughout the interview, the chemistry and good relationships between five boisterous boys-turned-men was evidently shown. But despite all that, there was a huge difference between each of their own individual types.

The charming and well-built Jonghyun expressed that his ideal type has to be very manhwa-esque. He elaborated further on his high expectations. "My ideal type is one that must have the big round eyes of the girls drawn in manhwas. They have to be so big that they make up half of her face. She has to look at me shyly as well. It would be great if she had round, rosy cheeks that make her look like she's a squirrel eating nuts. Apart from small cherry lips, she needs to have a nose that is shaped like a rice cake (ddeokbokki)."

With standards as high as Jonghyun's, the group's dancing-machine and maknae, Taemin, hopes to find a girl whose philtrum complements his. "My philtrum is of a concave shape, so I hope to find a girl with a complementary convex-shaped philtrum."

SHINee's vocalist and rapper, Key, who is known for his friendliness and numerous talents, made an impressive drawing with his artistic skills. With a stroke of his hand, he drew a lovable girl with short-hair, who looked very much like an adorable cartoon character. "Actually, it doesn't matter if she has long or short hair. What's important is that she has be friendly, obedient, and loves me a lot." With such a description, it clearly shows the traditional views Key has towards relationships.

The host of LoveJK, Wu Jian Heng, expressed with much thoughtfulness that he would help the members of SHINee find their Dream Girls with their drawings.

[News] SM Entertainment responds to plagiarism accusations for SHINee’s “Dream Girl”

Posted Image

Some international fans had discovered the similarities between SHINee‘s “Dream Girl” and Luis Miguel‘s “Vuelve“ almost immediately after Dream Girl’s release and now the issue is being spotlighted in Korea.

A video of the two tracks that compared the two songs was uploaded onto YouTube, and the many viewers who listened to it couldn’t help but notice the similarities. Some suggested that SM Entertainment might have sampled the song after buying publication rights.

However, SM Entertainment refuted all rumors that the song was either plagiarized or sampled, saying, “‘Dream Girl’ is the product of producer Shin Hyuk, who is famous for being the producer of the famous pop star Justin Bieber, and his composing team, ‘Joombas Music Factory’.” In a phone call with Chosun, they said, “We didn’t buy distribution rights, and we didn’t sample the song. This is purely SM Entertainment’s creation. The plagiarism accusations are just opinions of some people.

In another phone call with Osen, a representative from SM said, “We know that [the plagiarism accusations] have stemmed from some netizens. We don’t think they know what plagiarism is. You can say they’re similar, but it’s not right to say they are the same.” A composer stated to Osen, “For a song to be considered plagiarized in legal terms, four bars must be completely the same. If you compare the two songs, you can’t say that.

[NEWS] SHINee dominates all four music show charts and secures two Triple Crown wins in a single week

Repost from: http://www.shineee.net/index.php?showtopic=42502

What a week! SHINee has swept the music show charts by receiving four music program awards in one week, two of which were Triple Crown wins. SHINee has so far dominated the charts of MBC Show Champion and M! Countdown for three weeks straight, KBS Music Bank for two weeks straight, and recently claimed the first-ever win on SBS Inkigayo's new ranking chart system.

SHINee began their week of victories with an appearance on MBC Show Champion. After a dynamic performance, the boys were announced the winners of the Show Champion trophy, marking their first Triple Crown win and giving way to a spectacular encore celebration.

A special promise hung in the air on the following day, as SHINee previously promised fans they would do a three-level mokma (standing on each others' shoulders) if they won a Triple Crown on M! Countdown. SHINee was up against 2AM for first place and won with 8,403 points versus 2AM's 7,153 points. The boys didn't forget their vow upon winning and fulfilled their promise in their own unique way.

Next up was SHINee's success on Music Bank, becoming their second consecutive win on the show yet. SHINee's score was distanced from their opponent's by an impressive gap, scoring 13,421 versus Teen Top's 9,945.

SHINee's week of accomplishments led up to a peak when Dream Girl took its most recent honor as #1 song on the last music show of the week, SBS Inkigayo. Inkigayo previously revoked the Mutizen awards to make way for an all-new chart system that takes SNS voting into account.

SHINee was up against Lee Hi and Sistar19 for the Inkigayo win, and were soon announced to be the first-ever winners on Inkigayo's new ranking chart. SHINee took a much-deserved win with a total of 9,224 points versus Lee Hi's 6,946 points and Sistar19's 5,708 points.

Furthermore, Shawols went all out after finding out that tweets tagged with #드림걸 ("Dream Girl" in Hangul) contribute to SHINee's Inkigayo ranking. The trend made it to second on the Worldwide trendlist shortly after the news on the day before, and reached first on the day of SHINee's Inkigayo perfomance.

Shawols also trended other topics to mark SHINee's wins throughout the week.

The #드림걸 trend stayed at the top of the Worldwide list from Inkigayo broadcast time all the way into the night. Claiming first place for a total of 7 hours and 41 minutes, it was surely the longest SHINee trending topic ever to hit the list! Whether it was sheer Shawol power or a glitchy kind of fate, the frozen trend was much appreciated by fans.
